Things haven’t changed much at KOWB in Laramie, Wyoming. They’ve moved to 1290 AM and changed format to new-talk-sports… well, maybe a lot has changed. They were doing Top 40 music in 1955, so here’s their Top Ten from September 24; you’ll notice that a lot more rock & roll and rhythm & blues are taking over.
- Les Baxter, “Unchained Melody”
- Les Baxter, “Wake The Town And Tell The People”
- Les Paul and Mary Ford, “Hummingbird”
- The Cheers, “Black Denim Trousers And Motorcycle Boots”
- The Four Aces, “Love Is A Many-splendored Thing”
- Bill Haley & His Comets, “Rock Around The Clock”
- Perry Como, “Tina Marie”
- Boyd Bennett & His Rockets, “Seventeen”
- Pat Boone, “Ain’t That A Shame”
- Mitch Miller, “The Yellow Rose Of Texas”
And that’s Top Ten Tuesday for September 20, 2022.
