Bebop pianist Bud Powell was born on this day in 1924. Rick Beato calls him “The Pianist That Influenced a Generation.” His analysis of this song, “Anthropology,” is worth listening to. The song was written by Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie; this 1962 performance was filmed at Café Montmartre in Copenhagen, Denmark.
