“The King Of The Singing Cowboys,” actor and singer Gene Autry was born on this day in 1907. He owned the Los Angeles Angels baseball team from that team’s inception in 1961 until his death in 1998. “Back In The Saddle Again” was #1 on the Country chart in 1939.
