Song of the Day: Hank Marvin, “Apache”

Hank Marvin, lead guitarist and leader of the British instrumental group The Shadows, turns 81 years young today. Easily recognizable with his dark-rimmed glasses and red Fender Stratocaster, Hank and The Shadows were Cliff Richard’s backup band as well as making singles of their own. "Apache" was a hit for The Shadows in 1960, reaching #1 in the UK, Ireland, New Zealand, and South Africa, also reaching #4 in Australia, #6 in Germany, #8 in Spain, and #11 in the Netherlands.
