Song of the Day: Neal Hefti, His Orchestra and Chorus, “Batman Theme”

Jazz trumpeter, composer, arranger, and bandleader Neal Hefti was born 100 years ago today. He was a composer and arranger for the Count Basie Orchestra and the Woody Herman Orchestra, wrote a number of movie and TV themes, including the themes for The Odd Couple and Batman. Here’s the latter.

  1. This is a great theme and I wish Julie Newmar would have had a dance to this in her costume I’m not gay but she looked great and she was a professional dancer.

  2. I love this as a rock song also. The Who covered this back in the 60s…but yea this is the version I’ll always love.
