Song of the Day: Diana Krall, “The Look Of Love”

Jazz pianist and singer Diana Krall was born on this day in 1964. Wikipedia tells us

She has sold more than 15 million albums worldwide, including over six million in the US. On December 11, 2009, Billboard magazine named her the second greatest jazz artist of the decade (2000–2009), establishing her as one of the best-selling artists of her time.

Krall is the only jazz singer to have had eight albums debuting at the top of the Billboard Jazz Albums. To date, she has won three Grammy Awards and eight Juno Awards. She has also earned nine gold, three platinum, and seven multi-platinum albums.

“The Look Of Love” is the title track from her 2001 album. It reached #22 on the Adult Contemporary chart that year.

  1. I’ve seen her perform this song. You really appreciate how remarkably talented she is during a live show. Her piano skills are amazing. Her interpretation of songs blended with her original material gives the listeners plenty of variety.

    1. A lot of people don’t like her, for some reason. She’s an excellent pianist, a chanteuse worthy of the title, and a very attractive woman, and earned everything she has. Everyone has their detractors, I guess.
