He had two crossover hits in 1973: “Behind Closed Doors” and “The Most Beautiful Girl In The World,” which reached #1 on the Country, Pop, and Adult Contemporary charts in both the US and Canada, #7 in Australia, #2 in the UK, and #3 in the Netherlands.
