“The Silver Fox,” country music singer and pianist Charlie Rich was born on this day in 1932. Charlie’s music included elements of rock, rockabilly, jazz, blues, gospel, and soul. He had two crossover hits in 1973: “Behind Closed Doors” and “The Most Beautiful Girl In The World,” which reached #1 on the Country, Pop, and Adult Contemporary charts in both the US and Canada, #7 in Australia, #2 in the UK, and #3 in the Netherlands.
