
Country and pop singer Jerry Wallace was born on this day in 1928. He charted nine hits on the Hot 100 between 1958 and 1964, including “Primrose Lane,” which reached #8 in 1959. It was later used as the theme song for the comedy-drama TV series The Smth Family, which starred Henry Fonda and Ron Howard and ran from January 1971 to June 1972.

The show didn’t quite make it. Hard to believe, with Henry Fonda and Ron Howard (who was still quite a draw from his Andy Griffith Show days). But the theme was great…
