Twin brothers Robin and Maurice Gibb, who with their brother Barry formed The Bee Gees, were born on this day in 1949. Sadly, both are deceased, Maurice in 2003, Robin in 2012. "Lonely Days" was their first Top Ten single in the US, reaching #3 in 1970 and being certified Gold. It also reached #9 in Australia, #1 in Canada, #3 in the Netherlands, #10 in New Zealand, and #8 in Belgium.
I had to do a double take on the phrase “first Top Ten single” because I thought, “Wait… what about I Started a Joke and I’ve Got to Get a Message to You and Massachusetts and Words and To Love Somebody…?”” ;) None of those made the Top Ten, but I sure do remember them!

The Bee Gees did some of the most beautiful songs ever. My favorite: “New York Mining Disaster 1941”:
I’d just love to have a slice of that harmony for dessert, know what I’m saying? It’s sad that people will remember mostly their disco stuff, which, actually, ain’t half bad either.

I loved their music and especially this song.

They had a lot of great hits in their pre-disco days, and their disco tunes weren’t bad, either.

They were really good. It’s unfortunate that Barry’s the only one left. The harmony was impeccable.

I remember Andy Gibb who had a solo career but was only 30 when he died. Very talented family and their harmonies were brilliant.

Andy was dating Victoria Principal in the late ’70’, but I guess that broke up because of his drug issues. He was a pretty talented s.inger

From what I can remember, he was good but I don’t know if the four ever sang together.

I don’t think they did…
