MMMM: Happy New Year! (Acrostic)

Yesterday, of course, was Christmas, and I hope yours was a good one. Now we’re in the last week of the year, looking right at New Year’s Day next Sunday. I wanted to do something a little different than play the same old New Year’s Day songs again, so I gave it some thought, and came up with an idea: do an acrostic on “HAPPY NEW YEAR,” using songs from 1963, sixty years ago. And here it is…

  • Hey Paula – Paul & Paula
  • Ain’t Gonna Kiss Ya – The Ribbons
  • Pepino The Italian Mouse – Lou Monte
  • Puddin’ ‘n’ Tain – Alley Cats
  • You’ve Really Got A Hold On Me – The Miracles
  • Night Had A Thousand Eyes – Bobby Vee
  • End Of The World – Skeeter Davis
  • Walk Right In – Rooftop Singers
  • You’re The Reason I’m Living – Bobby Darin
  • El Watusi – Ray Barreto
  • Alice In Wonderland – Neil Sedaka
  • Rhythm Of The Rain – The Cascades

That was fun! Happy New Year! That’s Monday’s Music Moves Me for December 26, 2022.

Monday’s Music Moves Me is sponsored by Marie, Cathy, Alana, and Stacy, so be sure and visit them, where you can also find the Linky for the other participants.

  1. John,

I rarely think of doing an acrostic. I’m glad you think of it. You always put together some great songs. This year is almost gone. WOW, did it ever go by fast, too! Thanks for joining the dance party this year. I hope y’all continue to boogie with us throughout the coming new year, my friend. Have a boogietastic week!

    1. My brother wants me to do an acrostic for “antidisestablishmentariaism.” And, you know me, I’m up to the challenge… I might do that Monday…

Happy New Year to you and yours, and yes, I’ll be back next year…

  2. When I was around 9 years old I went to a record store just to buy Rhythm Of The Rain…I’ve always liked that song.

  3. A mix of songs I love, songs that surprised a little, and songs I don’t remember. My favorites: Night Had a Thousand Eyes End of the World and Rhythm of the Rain. Surprised that the two least favorite were by Bobby Darin and Neil Sedaka, because I like others of their music. Nice playlist to end the year with. Alana ramblinwitham
