Guitarist, singer, and songwriter Stephen Stills turns 78 years old today. He’s best known for his work with Buffalo Springfield and Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young, as well as his solo work and work with Manassas. He was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame twice on the same night as a member of Buffalo Springfield and CSNY. Al Kooper had been working on the 1968 Supersession with Mike Bloomfield, who never showed up for the second day of recording. Stills stood in for him and recorded this version of Donovan’s "Season Of The Witch," which was popular on progressive radio stations at the time.
Donovan Mellow Yellow? I don’t remember this song. Kinda neat. Oh, it’s kinda coming back to me. I remember it vaguely, maybe some other version.
