Lauren provided today’s Just Jot It January prompt: cancer.

- My maternal grandparents
- My parents
- My stepfather
- My great-aunt
- My uncle (father’s side)
- My aunt (mother’s side)
- My cousin
- My mother-in-law
- My friend from the Holy Name Society in Chicago
- My colleague (still alive!)
- At least two Ghostletters friends
And that’s just the ones I can think of.
Cancer’s not my favorite sunject…
Long list and I have one equally long and colon cancer os a biggie.
I’d rather go that Cancer is the astrological sign for, mainly, July. They are home loving, nurturing but can be moody. My brother is a cancer

Sydney Omarr did a horoscope column and called Cancers “Moon Children.” He thought it was a poor choice of name, not that he had anything to do with it…

I have a similar list, but I also have a growing list of people who have beaten the odds. That gives me hope.

More people are recognizing the signs of cancer and catching it sooner, before it becomes a bigger problem. Early detection is the key…

I didn’t want to talk about it for that very reason.

My family/friends lost-to-cancer list isn’t anywhere as long (sad? lamentable?) as yours, but ’tis enough, ’twill serve. Losing anyone to cancer is one too many.

That is a long list John. There are very few who will not have a list of some sort.

I know, and I appreciate it. I still miss all of them. I barely knew some of them and others I thought would live forever. Like I said, I come from a big family, and for every person who departs this mortal plane there are two new ones arriving. My cousins’ children are all grown up and marrying now and having children. You know the Irish… đŸ¤£
