MMMM: Time…

You’ve seen this before here…

So, having said that, today’s prompt is…

Time. Song lyrics or titles mentioning time, or calendars, or days of the week. Kudos to Alana for offering the first music prompt for the new year!

Three cheers for Alana!

I’ve built all kinds of playlists for “time” in the past, and didn’t feel like finding them and re-presenting them here. So I just went to YouTube and searched for “time” and took the first dozen songs I found. Some of these are old faves, some are totally new to me. Hope you like it…

  1. Culture Club, "Time (Clock Of The Heart)"
  2. Pink Floyd, "Time"
  3. Hans Zimmer, "Time" (from the movie Inception)
  4. David Bowie, "Time"
  5. Hootie & The Blowfish, "Time"
  6. The Alan Parsons Project, "Time"
  7. Climax Blues Band, "Running Out Of Time"
  8. Ringo Starr, Burton Cummings, Joe Walsh, and Todd Rungren, "No Time"
  9. calico, "It’s About Time"
  10. Dooley Wilson, "As Time Goes By"
  11. Lizzy Capri, "Time"
  12. The Chambers Brothers, "Time Has Come Today"

Here is the link to the playlist, in case the songs won’t play on the page.

That’s Monday’s Music Moves Me for January 9, 2023.

Monday’s Music Moves Me is sponsored by Marie, Cathy, Alana, and Stacy, so be sure and visit them, where you can also find the Linky for the other participants.

  1. Where do I start? Great play list? Many I knew, I had the chance (great minds as we both picked it) the Chambers Brothers classic version of Time Has Come Today, and I was introduced to Hans Zimmer’s Time, which was one of those songs that make me want to see the movie, just to hear the full score. 1. When I was in high school, Bob Dearborn at WCFL had a block called “Long Gold,” where he’d play the full version of songs that were cut back to 3 minutes for radio play. “Time Has Come Today” was on about every other week. That is a tremendous song. Psychedelic Soul is a genre that never quite got the airplay it deserved.

The whole soundtrack to “Inception” is on YouTube” https://youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_lLmpKhtNs73UW3WXKmsMiEK5p-X96j2h4

  2. I didn’t recognize them til we got to Alan Parsons Project. And hadn’t heard/seen that version of “No Time “with Burton Cummings, though always liked the Guess Who. Never knew what he looked like. Always thought Joe Walsh was a hoot. Burton sounds kinda different maybe. Of course, love “As Time Goes By.”

    1. Burton’s getting older (as are we all) so it doesn’t surprise me. In the “Endurance” playlist I just put out there, I have Carly Simon’s “Nobody Does It Better,” and it sounds like her voice is thickening and mellowing out (quite nice, really), and Peter Cetera is having to put his songs in a lower key. My “Share Your World” post this week has a link to my “Time” playlist on Spotify, if you use that…

  3. As you know, I spoke of time in my musical jaunt last week and used ” As Time Goes by” as well. I love that song. Yhe last song sounded eerie and I gad images of the Jack in the Boxes.

  4. John,

It’s interesting you used Hans Zimmer in your line up. Last night DH paused long enough while channel surfing that I noticed a program featuring Zimmer. We have seen the film “Interception” but I can’t say I remembered the song “Time”. It’s really beautiful, though. He is an amazing music composer. You included another with the same title name I not only know but enjoy listening to again like The Alan Pearson’s Project song. “As Time Goes By” is a timeless classic. Great playlist this morning. Thanks for sharing and for joining the 4M party. Have a boogietastic week, my friend!
