I just heard the sad news that British rock guitarist Jeff Beck died Tuesday of bacterial meningitis at the age of 78. He was a member of The Yardbirds, after which he fronted the Jeff Beck Group before joining with Tim Bogert and Carmine Appice in the band Beck, Bogert & Appice. He recorded ten solo albums after that and worked on a few projects, including the 2022 album 18 with Johnny Depp. He won eight Grammy awards, six for Best Rock Instrumental Performance. “You Know What I Mean” is the first track from his first solo album, 1975’s Blow By Blow.
Sad news indeed.

He had really taken the guitar to new levels. That’s a guy who played guitar for hours every day.

It was a shock to learn this guitarist artist died. It was so quick and one wonders how he got this. I heard Johnny Depp was by his bedside qhen he passed away.

He was indeed a great and will be sadly missed! I saw him many moons ago in a town hall in Greenford!
Here he is with my favourite singer Imogen Heap.
