This week’s theme is to spell out my full name in band or song names. To make it a little harder, I went with band names. My full name is John Connelly Holton, so there are 18 songs.
- Bob James, “Angela (Theme From Taxi)”
- Roy Orbison, “You Got It”
- Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds, “Fallin’ In Love”
- NOVA, “Bim Bom”
- Chicago, “South California Purples”
- Gilbert O’Sullivan, “Get Down”
- Najee, “Najee’s Theme”
- Michael Nesmith, “Different Drum”
- Exile, “Kiss You All Over”
- Steve Lawrence, “Pretty Blue Eyes”
- Brenda Lee, “I’m Sorry”
- Frankie Yankovic, “Beer Barrell Polka”
- Herman’s Hermits, “There’s A Kind Of Hush”
- Oasis, “Wonderwall”

That’s Monday’s Music Moves Me ir January 23, 2023.
Monday’s Music Moves Me is sponsored by Marie, Cathy, Alana, and Stacy, so be sure and visit them, where you can also find the Linky for the other participants.

What an interesting mix of songs, and, as usual, you found songs I never heard (like Bim Bom). What can I say about a playlist that includes everything from Frank Yankovic to The Trashmen? I love Herman’s Hermits; I’ve seen them in concert twice. Great listening. Alana ramblinwitham

Hokey smoke, John Connelly Holton! “There’s a Kind of Hush” brings back sweet feelings but I’m not sure why. Maybe, it’s just the way the song made me feel when I was little. I love those old bands from the 60s. Peter Noone is great fun to listen to on Sirius radio. Herman’s Hermits were really young boys when they started in the music industry. Great playlist! Thanks for joining the 4M party, my friend. Have a boogietastic week!!

A friend of mine gave me “There’s A Kind Of Hush” for my 11th birthday, Up until then, 1967 was a lousy year, with Dad dying and all. My birthday that year (Holy Saturday, the day before Easter) was a beautiful day, sunny and 75. Winter had just ended four days earlier; in Chicago, it was usually still wintering. Getting the record (and a clock radio and a new baseball glove) was a real boost.

You certainly have some clear memories attached this song. I don’t think that I can say the same thing about any song. Well, that’s not entirely true. There are a couple of tunes I think I can tell you why they’re important to me. That’s too bad you lost your dad while you were so young. It’s never easy when a parent dies but for a kid? That’s gotta be hard. It sounds like you had a good birthday that year, though. Thanks for sharing your memories with me of your 11th bday!

I love the eclectic mix from the Polka to Herman’s Hermits etc… I love the Bird song which you played before but with the animation of Family Guy.
I know I would have ABBA and ELO on my letters.
