Jim supplied today’s prompt, "a love song about unconditinal love." My years as a music minister paid off once again, as I remembered this song by Fr. Michael Joncas, "I Have Loved You," from his 1979 album On Eagle’s Wings. The message is that God’s love is everlasting, and that all we need to do is accept it.

What a great choice. I am not a church person anymore but I still love hymnes and hum one every now and then. 🤗

This was nice even though hymns are not my thing. The words were nice to hear because it’s my mom’s birthday today. She would have been 95 yrs old.

Thanks for the beautiful memory! When I was active in our church choir, this was one of the anthems I truly loved to sing.

Joncas wrote some beautiful songs, as did The St. Louis Jesuits and David Haas. Joncas seemed to write more complex music. I used to like to play his stuff.
