Today’s prompt comes from the lovely AngelsWhisper2011, who’s looking for "Celestial as in the sky/outer space or belonging to or relating to heaven or relating to anything supremely good/beautiful." Okay, let’s give it a try…
- The Fifth Dimension, “Up, Up, And Away”
- Jigsaw, “Sky High”
- Norman Greenbaum, “Spirit In The Sky”
- The Outlaws, “Ghost Riders In The Sky”
- The Tornadoes, “Telstar”
- Three Dog Night, “Heaven Is In Your Mind”
- Billy Preston, “Outa-Space”
- David Bowie, “Space Oddity”
- Lee Ritenour, “Heavenly Bodies”
- The Fifth Dimension, “Aquarius/Let The Sunshine In”
And that’s Monday’s Music Moves Me for February 20, 2023.
Monday’s Music Moves Me is sponsored by Cathy, Alana, and Stacy, so be sure and visit them, where you can also find the Linky for the other participants.

Up, Up and Away is such a classic. I think it was originally supposed to be the theme song for a teen movie.

I never heard that, but it is a classic and The Fifth Dimension did a tremendous version of it.

A great playlist, as always. Rocked out to Ghost Riders in the Sky and Telstar especially. The three Dog Night song was new to me. Space Oddity and the Fifth Dimension songs are classics. Alana ramblinwitham

These are great songs! I love Sky High and hadn’t heard it in years. Love the real instruments used. Funny I thought it was a woman who sang the beginning… oops. Love the funky outfits of the 5th Dimension.

That’s why I like The Fifth Dimension: extraordinary voices and song choices, great dance moves, and those outfits. They didn’t just sound good, they looked good, too.

John,
Hokey smoke, Jigsaw “Sky High” is a song I totally forgot about! It’s great to listen to this again. “Ghost Riders in the Sky” is one of those songs I usually like just about any artist. The Outlaws did a great job with it! I can’t swear to knowing “Heavenly Bodies” but it’s a beautiful song. Thanks for sharing it! You ended your playlist with an excellent oldie by the Fifth Dimension that captures my inner hippie self. 🙂 Thanks for hitting the dance floor. Have a boogietastic week!

Like your list, an early hit by Rick Springfield was Speak to the Sky, inspired by his father’s mental deterioration, it was a prayer by his son for his recovery.
