In last week’s battle, two smooth jazz chanteuses, Patti Austin and Diane Schuur, faced off on their interpretations of George and Ira Gershwin’s "How Long Has This Been Going On." Voting was a little light, but not bad for a mid-month battle. Anyway, here are the results…

That was a difficult battle because they were both excellent.

Both are superb singers. It could have gone either way. Diane took a more-traditional approach with the big band behind her, and I think that was the deciding factor.
