Bee’s prompt for today is "A Love Song from an Artist in your region," adding that we can feel free to choose if ‘region’ means your town, county, country or continent." That’s easy, because a lot of music comes out of Atlanta….
Starbuck came to prominence with their 1976 single, "Moonlight Feels Right", which rose to #3 in the US and #1 in Canada. Unfortunately, they never had another Top 40 single. The band was formed here in Atlanta by keyboardist and lead singer Bruce Blackman and marimbist Bo Wagner, and between 1976 and 1983 released three albums and seven singles, one under the name Korona. Blackman still lives in Atlanta and still appears in Yacht Rock concerts and records from time to time; sadly, Wagner died in 2017. "Sunset Eyes" was released on their 1977 album Rock & Roll Rocket, but was not released as a single.
I never heard this song before. It’s catchy. Since the one band member grew up in my home town but he has, unfortunately, died few years ago, I would pick Rush. I just can’t stand that band. It’s the lead singer…hate his voice.
