More From The Bard Of Baltimore #1LinerWeds

The most dangerous man to any government is the man who is able to think things out for himself, without regard to the prevailing superstitions and taboos. Almost inevitably he comes to the conclusion that the government he lives under is dishonest, insane and intolerable, and so, if he is romantic, he tries to change it. And even if he is not romantic personally he is very apt to spread discontent among those who are.

H. L. Mencken

This kind of thing has been on my mind a lot lately…

Linda is the host of One-Liner Wednesday. Now a word about Philip Morris Multifilter cigarettes. Honest-to-Pete tobacco flavor!

(Wonder who Pete is?)

    1. Government is, at best, a necessary evil, and I think it’s more evil than necessary. The citizens of a country don’t go to war with the citizens of another country, because they have better things to do, like raise their families, something we’d help them do if they needed it, just like they’d help us if we needed it. It’s government that drags us into war. And that’s just one example.

    1. He was remarkably prescient, and the more I see and hear what the government is doing and plans to do, the more I realize he was right. Can you imagine if he was alive today what he’d say?

    1. I have a video that has two hours of cigarette commercials on it, so I’m going through and finding ones I haven’t featured before or that I like. It’s kind of fun seeing them again…

I saw that quote yesterday and it spoke to me…
