Jazz singer and songwriter Billie Holiday was born on this day in 1915. "Lady Day" had a unique impact on jazz and pop, and she was known for her vocal delivery and her improvisation skills. "God Bless The Child" was written by her and Arthur Herzog Jr. in 1939 and released on Okeh Records in 1942.
