Happy 73rd to Peter Frampton, singer-songwriter and guitarist. Peter’s father was an art teacher who taught at Bromley Technical High School, where one of his students was David Bowie. He and David (who was three years older) would spend their lunch breaks together playing Buddy Holly songs. He and Steve Marriott formed Humble Pie in 1969. "Show Me The Way" was released in 1975 as the lead single from his fourth studio album Frampton in 1975, and was released the following year as the first single from the live album Frampton Comes Alive!. The live version reached #6 on the Hot 100. This is a perfomance from a 1975 edition of The Midnight Special.
Always loved Frampton. Thanks, John. Good to hear you are on the mend.

Peter Frampton kind of was late discovery in my case. Strangely, the first song I seem to recall is “I Can’t Stand It No More.” Anyway, I’ve come to love him and I’m thrilled I got a ticket to see him for the first (and I’m afraid the last) time in Bethlehem, Pa. on Jul 15!

I’m getting there, thanks. I had fallen a couple of weeks earlier and the doctor said I had likely hurt myself then.

Hi John – I hope your back is not giving you too much gip over the weekend – with thoughts. With this song – you’re teaching me so much about my own music history over here … thanks! Cheers Hilary
