Happy 85th birthday to the man with the twangy guitar, Duane Eddy. "Rebel-‘Rouser" was maybe his most-familiar hit. It was written by Duane and Lee Hazlewood and issued as a single in 1958. It reached #6 on the Hot 100, #7 on the Cash Box Top 100, and #19 in the UK.
That is one cool-sounding tune!

Lee Hazelwood?! I am today years old learning this bit of music history. 😉

I was yesterday years old when I found out. I wonder if it was a legitimate credit, or one of those “gotta throw the producer’s name in there” type of deals.

Saw him at Viva Las Vegas in 2018. The sax player with him seriously rocked this tune.
