Happy 82nd birthday to British singer, guitarist and ukulele player Joe Brown. The first time I saw him was at the end of the November 2002 concert in honor of the late George Harrison, when he played "I’ll See You In My Dreams," a 1924 song by Isham Jones with lyrics by Gus Kahn. Here is that performance. Try not to get too choked up…
I want to find out more about him…the first time I noticed him was at the Concert for George.

I’d like to know more as well. Willow shared this song with me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jc7y6d9CvCA

Thanks, I can see why George liked him so much. He reminds me a little of the ukulele guy in Free As A Bird.

I wouldn’t be surprised. Both were likely influenced by George Formby, with the ukulele. Formby was from Lancashire, not far from Liverpool…

That was a beautiful and moving performance. Dhani who looked so much like George understandably did appear to have a hard time keeping it together. I love when Clapton briefly puts his arm around him at around 1:25 minutes into the performance.

What really got me was when Olivia came out near the end and hugged him. That was a beautiful mother and son moment…

Yeah, getting choked up is easy on this one, John

It was especially hard not to get choked up given the way it was used.

Joe Brown used to be everywhere when I was growing up. Lovely performance, and yes, I did get a bit choked.

That particular video, with all those great musicians on the stage and the flower petals falling from the ceiling, and especially when Olivia comes out at the end… grab the Kleenex….

I did and had a good sniffle. George Harrison was my favourite Beatle.

Mine, too. I took up the guitar because of him.

Thank you, John that was lovely and to see Dhani Harrison and Eric Clapton.
Joe Brown was very popular in our house while I was young … We still enjoy listening to him 😁
