Song of the Day: Joe Brown, “I’ll See You In My Dreams”

Happy 82nd birthday to British singer, guitarist and ukulele player Joe Brown. The first time I saw him was at the end of the November 2002 concert in honor of the late George Harrison, when he played "I’ll See You In My Dreams," a 1924 song by Isham Jones with lyrics by Gus Kahn. Here is that performance. Try not to get too choked up…

      1. Thanks, I can see why George liked him so much. He reminds me a little of the ukulele guy in Free As A Bird.

  2. That was a beautiful and moving performance. Dhani who looked so much like George understandably did appear to have a hard time keeping it together. I love when Clapton briefly puts his arm around him at around 1:25 minutes into the performance.

    1. That particular video, with all those great musicians on the stage and the flower petals falling from the ceiling, and especially when Olivia comes out at the end… grab the Kleenex….

Joe Brown was very popular in our house while I was young … We still enjoy listening to him 😁
