Country singer Eddy Arnold was born on this day in 1918. "Then You Can Tell Me Goodbye" was written by John D. Loudermilk and was originally recorded by The Casinos in 1966. Eddy’s cover topped the US and Canadian Country charts and reached #6 on the US Easy Listening chart in 1968.
The 1918 caught me attention as well, that’s the year my father was born! Had not heard this version before, gives the song a different feel.

A lot different from The Casinos’ version. Both are excellent in their own way.
